OCIA Adapted for Children is designed for children and teens 10 years of age and older who have not yet been baptized in the Catholic Church or who have not completed their Sacraments of Initiation. This includes children who have not received First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation.
Through this faith-filled journey, children grow in their relationship with Jesus, learn about the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church, and become active members of the parish community. Preparation is tailored to each child's individual sacramental needs.
Depending on your child's circumstances, they will prepare to receive First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation, and, if they have not yet been baptized, Baptism as well. Through these sacraments, children are welcomed more fully into the life of the Church and are strengthened to live as disciples of Christ.
The timing and sequence of these sacraments follow the norms of the Church and are discussed with each family throughout the process.
To better serve the developmental needs of each participant, classes are divided into two age groups:
Ages 10–13Ages 14–17Each group receives age-appropriate catechesis, prayer, discussion, and activities that foster a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith while preparing them to receive the sacraments with confidence and joy.REGISTRATION FOR THE 2026–27 OCIA ADAPTED FOR CHILDREN IS NOW OPEN!
To register for OCIA Adapted for Children, families must be registered parishioners of Saint Andrew Catholic Church and have access to their ParishStaq account.
