"Confession is an act of honesty and courage – an act of entrusting ourselves, beyond sin, to the mercy of a loving and forgiving God."
STARTING THE PATH
Families are encouraged not to take this step simply because your child is the "right age," but rather to consider whether this is the right time for your child and your family. We welcome you to proceed if your child is ready and you are committed to supporting their requirements. At St. Andrew, we take the process of discipleship very seriously. Only registered and active parishioners who regularly attend programs and Mass at St. Andrew can register for sacraments. We want those participating in sacramental preparation to embark on a lifelong journey of discipleship with us. If you have any questions, please contact Terry Adams.
Any baptized child between the ages of 7 and 9 is welcome to enroll in our preparation classes for Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Registration for these classes begins in August. The preparation takes place in a classroom setting, typically during the late fall months.

Our parish requires participation in faith formation classes to assist parents in preparing their children for their First Eucharist and First Reconciliation. Both parents and their children must work together at home to prepare for these sacraments. Additionally, parents are expected to have a one-on-one meeting with the Assistant of Faith Formation for a Sacrament Chat. This process is designed to help families understand these sacraments and provide support throughout their faith journey.
To register for our First Communion Preparation, your child must be receiving religious education in one of the following four ways:
1. Enrolled in our weekly CGS classes if attending public school.
2. Attending a Catholic school.
3. Being homeschooled full-time using a Catholic curriculum approved by the Diocese of Fort Worth.
