Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) Formation

The process of becoming a certified Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) Catechist is both intense and beautiful. Adults seeking certification attend approximately 16 days of formation with a CGSUSA-Certified Formation Leader who has extensive experience in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd method.
While the time commitment may feel daunting at first, those who participate consistently share that the experience is deeply rewarding. Many find that they learn just as much, if not more, than the children, as the adult formation courses offer a profound spiritual depth that strengthens faith, prayer, and understanding of God’s work in the life of the child.
As Saint Andrew continues to grow its Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program, adult formation remains an essential part of nurturing a strong, prayerful catechetical community rooted in Scripture, liturgy, and the life of the Church.Upcoming Formation Opportunities

We are grateful for the strong interest in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and look forward to offering additional formation opportunities in the future. Information about upcoming Level I, Level II, and other CGS formation courses will be posted here as it becomes available.
